Best Uses for XSONX
Wound Bed Prep
Superior and more uniform wound bed prepPrior to tissue grafting or in OR prior to STSG
Wound Infection
Biofilm are present in
60 to 90% of chronic wounds
7% of acute wounds
Use serially 1-3x per week for 2 weeks as step-up therapy for wounds that have primary or secondary signs of infection
Pre-moisten wound bed with saline or other common wound antiseptic, surfactant wound cleanser
Use of a surfactant or approved antiseptic may be synergistic to help disrupt biofilm and bioburden
Routine Care
Intermittent regular use (eg. 1x weekly) with #1 Scrubbing Head to gently scrub wound bed and keep wound healing trajectory favorable
Gentler Debridement
For painful wounds, vibratory analgesia helps to reduce pain perception compared to standard sharp debridement
Wound Edge Refashioning
Refashioning wound edges can remove senescent cells that collect at the edges of stalled wounds, helping to restart healing
Wound edges are a frequent source of biofilm and bioburden, which needs removal
Stalled Wounds
Removal of devitalized tissue and bacteria improves wound physiology and jump starts healing
Gentler Debridement
Vibratory analgesia helps to reduce pain perception compared to standard sharp debridement
Use XSONX® on a gloved finger to show patient it is gentle before starting the procedure. This helps reassure the patient.
XSONX® has been shown to reduce patient anxiety of debridement
Can even have very nervous patient don a glove and feel wound head softly on their gloved hand

Clinician Feedback
“Finally, a new helpful tool to painlessly and easily remove slough from any wound.”
Erik Maus, MD, Medical Director of Wound Care, Kindred Hospital, Houston, TX
“Sonic vibrations loosen slough and biofilms with less pain and greater effectiveness than gauze alone.”
James McGuire, DPM, LPT, CPed, Professor Clinician Scholar and Wound Center Director, Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine
“Drs. John Lantis and Callie Horn have demonstrated that the XSONX® device is very useful prior to application of cellular and tissue-based therapy. It appears to enhance early tissue engraftment. In addition, the majority of patients have felt that the device is less painful than ring curette excisional debridement.”
John C. Lantis II, MD and Callie Horn, MD, Professor Clinician Scholar and Wound Center Director, Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine
